The successful launch of the Shenzhou Ⅸ spacecraft indicates China's economic infrastructure and technology have made great progress and the country is ready to explore aerospace economy, reported Economic Information Daily on Monday.

上面报道中的aerospace economy就是“太空经济（Aerospace economy ）”，是指太空相关产业制造的经济效益。太空相关产业包括跟卫星发射相关的launch vehicle（运载火箭）和卫星制造，及ground equipment（地面设备）制造等；也包括各种太空活动所创造的产品和服务等，如radio communication（无线电通信）和satellite television（卫星电视）、telemedicine（远程医疗），及meteorological monitoring（气象监测）等等。
太空经济还包括space tourism（太空旅游）等新兴服务制造的经济效益，太空经济规模在50多年时间里增长了上千倍，是迄今为止增长最快的经济形态之一。太空活动不仅能产生巨大的经济效益，也能产生space junk/debris（太空垃圾），其中包括defunct/discarded satellite（报废卫星）、spent rocket bodies（火箭残骸）等等。
