【拓展】动词turn引申的四个短语动词turn on, turn off, turn up, turn down分别表示“打开、关掉、（音量等）调高、（音量等）调低”。这四个短语均是“动词+副词”结构，若it/them作其宾语时，应位于短语中间。
【辨析】turn on/open与“开”

这两个动词（短语）都有“打开”之意，但在用法上有区别：

1.open用作动词，意为“开、打开、开启”，常指把关着的门、窗、箱、盒等打开，其反义词为close。

2.turn on意为“开”，通常指打开水流、煤气以及电灯、电视、收录机等电器的开关，其反义词为turn off。试比较：

Open your books on page 48.请打开书第48页。

Miss Cong walked into the room and turned on the light.丛小姐走进房间，打开了灯。

【考例】
1. Remember to ________ the lights when you leave your classroom. ）

A. turn on B. turn off C. turn up D. turn down

2. --The TV is too noisy, Mum. --Sorry, my dear. I’ll ________ at once.

【点睛】题1根据后半句可知表达“关掉（电灯）”，故选B。题2由too noisy“太吵闹”可知答语表达“（把电视音量）调低”。故选A。题3由于表达“打开窗户”，故填open。
