初中英语重点词汇辨析：check/examine与“检查”

check/examine与“检查”这两个词用作动词时都有“检查”的意思，但具体用法有所不同：

check一般指用检查或调查的方法去印证某事、核对、核实（不用于被动语态）等，相当于to see if it is right or not；而examine强调仔细观察、察看、检查、测试、审问、诊察等，相当于to see if there is something wrong。试比较：

Please check the power for me.请帮我检查电力！

I must go and check it myself.我一定得去亲自核对一下。

Check your homework before you hand it in.把你的家庭作业检查一下然后再交。

He went to the Congo to examine a new volcano.他曾去刚果察看一座新火山。

The doctor examine the patient carfully.医生对这位病人作了仔细检查。

注意：check还可用作可数名词，表示“检查、支票（=cheque）、（餐馆的）帐单”等。
